Jason understands the challenges entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, and property owners face when launching, acquiring, operating, and growing a business. He works with clients across a broad range of business and transactional matters, including entity formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate acquisitions and development, contract negotiation, employment-related matters, shareholder and partner disputes, and estate and succession planning.

His experience in both the legal and business worlds gives him a practical perspective that many business owners value. Before returning to private practice, Jason gained firsthand experience operating a family business, launching new ventures, and working in real estate acquisition, development, and management. That background allows him to approach legal issues not only as an attorney, but as someone who understands the business pressures, timing concerns, and practical realities that drive client decisions.

Having navigated roadblocks, large and small, that can arise from unexpected places and at unforeseen times, Jason brings a practical, solution-oriented approach to his practice. He focuses on helping clients identify risk, evaluate options, and move forward with clear, workable solutions. Whether assisting with a business acquisition, negotiating a commercial agreement, resolving an ownership dispute, or helping a family plan for the future, Jason aims to provide advice that is strategic, direct, and grounded in the client’s broader goals.

Jason’s career journey has taken him from litigation to operating a successful family business, launching new ventures, and ultimately returning to law to better serve business clients and their families. His passion lies in helping people achieve their visions and overcome challenges through thoughtful problem-solving. Clients appreciate his responsiveness, judgment, and ability to balance legal protection with practical business needs.

When Jason isn’t assisting clients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, young son, extended family, and friends. In his free time he enjoys staying active around the lakes, attending live music events, cheering on one of the local sports teams despite their usual heartbreak, or discovering the next binge-worthy show to stream.

Jason earned his law degree from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
